Ho does teh Oxylitic cleaning system work on electric ovens? I know that Pyrolytic basically burns the food resedue into grey ash by heating it up to 480 degrees, and that the Catalytic cleaning system is supposed to work in a similar way but at a lower temperature (alledgedly less effective) but i cannot see a definition for how the Oxylytic cleaning system works. Note that on some website its written as 'Oxylitic' rather than Oxylytic. Thanks.

From what I can gather from the Bosch Website it is to do with the material that the oven liners are made with. The splashes emanating from cooking uncovered food do not adhere so much and is reckoned by them to be 4 times more efficient that catalytic cleaning. The heating of the oven for cleaning is much the same, though as you say, not quite so hot.
I had to dig deep to find even that on their Site.
My feeling is that it is another of those glib techno-babble words that are introduced to imply a leap in progress, but if it's that impressive why is it so hard to find the definition?
Of course, one can always give the manufacturer a ring!

Thanks for that. I called Bosch pre-sales support and they didnt know the difference. What's more interesting is that all the 'HBN' model numbers of Bosch ovens are of an older range which is being phased out, and all the new ovens begin with 'HBA'. The interesting bit is that the old range all have Oxilytic liners where as the new range have Catalytic. If Oxylitic are alledgedly better, why on earth would Bosch do away with it in favour of Catalytic. I think Bosch are misinforming on their site in that case, or are trying to cut down on production costs?
