microchips for you pet

we had our cat done 1 week ago. Today, when i was giving him a fuss, i noticed a small sharp spot sticking out of his skin where the chip should be. its hard to get a look 'cos he can be ever so wriggly.... so do you think its just a scab? or is the chip sticking out? i dont want to pick at it and im loathe to have to pay for a consultation for nothing?

Ring the vet who did it. Its quite a big needle that puts it in so it could be a scab.
