I want to copy photos from the hard drive to a removable disc. The discs are not formatted and whilst I can call up the formatting comand on my laptop (Vista) I am unable to get the format option on my desktop (Windows XL) when right clicking on "my computer" and Windows does not recognise the Vista formatted disc. My photos are all on the desktop. Please can anyone help?
If you put your blank disc into your recording draw, after a few seconds it will recognise the disc and a window will pop-up asking you what you want to do with the disc.
It asks me to put a blank in the drawer and when I do, a message says "put a disc in" ie; it doesn't recognise the presence of the disc which by the way is a CD-RW.
You need to try another disc preferably a CD-R or even a CD+R.No need to use a CD-RW or DVD+RW, unless you want to wipe the disc and re-record over it again. may be your cd rom faulty you need to repair that
I had the same problem a while back curtis I was going to replace the drive, but got delayed, although i had removed the wires from the back of the drive, for some reason I replaced them, the drive has worked perfectly since,
I don't know whether it was a bad connection or what.
But i have copied about one hundred photo files since then.
Thanks to all of you who replied.
I checked the wiring to the drive and tried different discs ie; CD-R, CDRW,CD+R and CD+RW but still not working. Not sure what to try next. Incidentally, the drive plays pre-recorded music and photos.
