Why is that the younger generation find it much easier to operate technological produts (mobiles, computers etc) than older generations? Is it purely down to experience??

We're somehow genetically designed to be better at learning at a young age.
If I and a 5 year old were to start learning French tomorrow, I can guarantee that the 5 year old would learn better and faster.
Also, to a degree it's all kids talk about. The latest mobiles, ps2 etc. so they're far more familiar with technology and can extrapolate what they've learned of one technology to a new one that they (and an adult) are unfamiliar with. Adults are just left with the "unfamiliar" feeling.

I have been playing with gadgets and stuff all my life and find it odd that people half my age (I do remember the 1960s! hahaha!) develop temporary insanity when faced with a couple of switches and a dial. Maybe it's like those kids at school who just could not grasp maths and logic however many times they were shown. Shutters come down in the mind; self inflicted most of the time I suspect.
