wine, philosophy and Man Utd
19 Answers
So, Man Utd have won the title again. But which of the great thinkers goes furthest to explaining this continued success?
Nietzsche ...
Offers the idea of man and superman. Perhaps those players who are inherently superior have found a natural home together.
Darwin ...
Proposes that members of a given order, or team, will evolve until they are best adapted to succeed in their environment.
Whereas, Foucault ...
Would suggest that the decline of man in the face of insurmountable odds has caused other teams to fall behind.
Each of these philisophies predicts, inevitably, that Man Utd will dominate again next year, but even more comfortably.
Just a thought ... to ponder over a bottle of wine.

Devil ...
I think that any of these theorists can explain why Man City didn't win ... and will not progress for many years.
Nietzsche says ...
If players who are inherently superior have a natural home, it is not at Maine Road. Money cannot buy immortality.
Darwin says ...
Members of the genus "Man City" have evolved until they are perfectly suited to their environment - ie. mid table.
Whereas, Foucault says ...
Man City have declined of man in the face of a superior neither.
Any way you look at it ... Man City are screwed for the forseeable future.
