Confirm this my reading the manual but I would imagine that there will be a way of copying CD tracks to the MP3 memory.

Is it a CD/MP3 player or an "MP3 CD Player". Two different things. An MP3 CD player is a CD player that will play CDs that are encoded with MP3 files rather than CD Audio (meaning that a single CD can fit on significantly more music).
