I find the whole renewal of marriage vows a bit icky touchy feely. You should be renewing them every day in your heart ( sorry feel a bit nauseous now bleekch )

aww I am sure there are still a lot of happily married couples who want to renew their vows for lots of reasons
maybe the first marriage was hastily planned or a cheap do, maybe they want a big shin dig with all their friends and family involved.

I havent read all this thread..lazy.....BUT...I can see the point of renewing vows if the marriage has been a loving yet turbulent one.....NO affairs,but possibly due to other difficult times such as sickness,seperation due to Military obligations,death of a child....that sort of thing. Then it is a acknowledgement of the things that have kept the marriage strong...and nothing to do with soppy hearts and flowers.
