One for the ladies

Answerbank won't let me ask this question as I would like, but here goes anyway. Why do star-struck women make themselves available to superstar footballers/formula 1 drivers/rock stars ? I know one individual woman's choices does not *necessarily* represent sexual behaviour, but I think there are enough instances to make a phenomenon. I'm genuinely interested - I have no moral or jealous objections here. A rock god can get it by snapping his fingers - what's in it for the girls/women ? Is there an explanation or am I congenitally unable to fathom this (being male).

Ok, I'm not female! But surely the question is not why do some women want to bump uglies with a famous person, but how come famous woman aren't as free with their sexual favours as blokes? Loads of blokes would diddle Kylie/ Catherine Zeta Jones or whoever given half a chance. And I think we know the reasons why a bloke would!

I suspect it's probably a case of women being more discerning about their sexual partners...

Waldo, in answer to your question, I think it's more a case of the old double standards prevailing: Man Who Sleeps With Lots Of Women = Lurve God. Woman Who Sleeps With Lots Of Men = Desperate Tart.

Ravenhair, I agree entirely, but I do think women tend to be more discerning, whereas for many men a hollowed out marrow would be sufficent...

I meant that if you apply the rational a man would have to sleeping with a famous woman, why would it be different if the sexes were reversed?

Everybody likes to say that they have met someone famous somewhere sometimes and bumping boots with a celeb is one big notch upwards from this. (most) Men treat sex as a thing to be got wherever and whenever they can get it , whereas ladies tend to need to feel (rightly so) loved and cared for before sex can enter the equation but the lure of power & money can be a great aphrodisiac.
