Final finish for wooden chair
I have stripped down an oak chair and recoloured using Coloron wood dye. What is the best kind of wax to finish and shine, I do not want to use varnish.

It'll wear well and it will leave a non-gloss finish that will enhance the beauty of the oak grain. Be sure it polymerised though. If it's raw tung oil the drying time will amaze you... probably about Christmas for the first coat...
Rub it on with a soft, lint free cotton cloth. I find cheesecloth works well... Good luck!

I agree with Tamborine. now that you've stained it.
A good quality furniture beeswax polish applied with grade 000 wire wool - working with the grain. Allow to dry for 30minutes then polish either with something like a shoe brush or a soft cloth. The more often this process is carried out the deeper the finish - and the lovelier the smell.
And you'll be able to use the chair before Christmas ! Sorry, Clanad.
