Could anyone help me with the mechism of Electrophillic substitution of 3-chloro- benzene with a nitronium ion?!
I know that an alkenes undergoes electrophilic addition because of the high density electrons which surround the pi bond and the double bond therefore undergoes attack by electron deficient electrophiles, because they are partially positively charged and will accept pairs of electrons. I know that electrophiles include water, sulphuric acid and hydrogen bromide.
But i really an stuck with the mechnism of electrophilic addition....
