Is there a need to treat my cats for fleas & worms?

I have 2 cats, both 2 years old. I have had them since they were kittens and I have always kept them indoors as house cats.

My question is, as they are house cats, should I continue to treat them for fleas and worms? Up till now i treat them for both, but was wondering if i need to as I dont want to give them un-necessary medication .

we do ours every month, but he does go out but we used to when he was a little un and too small to go out. Have a word with the vet or google it on the net. I think its up to personal choice really.

I am happy to treat them if it is best, I just dont want to give them medicine if they dont need it.

The vets will tell you to do it, because they want you to buy it!

There is no need to treat for fleas unless you see evidence of them, but worming maybe once a year is always a good thing, or more often if they do ever get fleas from say a visiting cat or dog, as they might then ingest the fleas and start the worm cycle. I am all for not over medicating any animal.

No chance of visiting cats or dogs but I comb them regularly so will keep an eye out for any signs and start meds back up again if needed.

I hated treating them for fleas as they always seemed to feel discomfort when i used the frontline. Plus my all black cat got grey hair on the back of his neck where i used it so I am keen to stop.
