Naw never got the belt at school, got chalk thrown at me --and a duster (for chatting incessantly) ...however the boys got a Metre stick on the hands...some had great big welts to show for it..I thought it was a bit harsh. One girl got shook by the arm (by headmaster) until she eventually wet herself - that was just so bad to watch. He (headmaster) has now got dementia and i for one, dont feel a bit sorry for him!!!

it maybe a long time ago but i remember the first time i went into a wood working class. we were making abstracts or anything you wanted . within 5 minutes one lad had a chisel stuck in his thumb. there was blood all over the table

I called it the belt -it was trying to hide it from yer mum when you got home!!
I got it loads -once in science -ugg the teacher said what had do you want me to use -I said left -forgot he was ledt handed -man that was sair.

I once squirted perfume on the boy in front and when he went out to speak to the teacher she said Grant why are you smelling of perfume and he said cos M had squirted it on me -she blooming gave me the belt -I was in fifth year as well!!

O too many to chooose from but it was barbaric and I would tan anyone who every assaulted my child like that nowadays and I dont jest !!!

I led assembley in prayers once & it went all wrong & out of synch! I got the belt for that! I can laugh now, everone was all over the place!

the belt was abolished in 1986,i never got the belt in the academy,only primary school(the academy was a mixed school and i loved it,i learned a lot there,i loved art
