heavy period

I came off the pill in January 09 and well... to cut long story short, I didnt have a period until this month, and its a very heavy period in comparison to anything Ive had previously.
Is this normal after coming off the pill? Will it be lighter next month?

When i last came off the pill, i was wildly irregular for about 6 months, both in terms of timing, and heaviness.
So, you may find the next one heavier, lighter, or the same,

When I came off the pill i was so heavy and the period pain was so bad I thought i was dying! Then even though my periods were lighter they were never as loght as being on the pill.

thanks for the answers. i have also felt as though i was dying these last few days! but also very worrying
