Today I Found a Pay Packet

I found a Pay Packet {small brown envelope} long time since I have seen one! It contained a small amount of money but still a large amount to the loser! The information on it was minimal
I am now doing a bit of detective work to trace the owner! Have you ever found anything valuable etc and what did you do!!

Found an old lady's purse and managed to return it to her. Next day she gave me a bunch of white carnations.

My friend and I found a purse on a bus many years ago. We were stil kids at the time. We looked in it and found an address and tel number and contacted the person. We then took it round to her and she was so grateful she gave us �2.

i once found �180 pounds dropped by a pikey who dropped it as he barged past me and my pushchair at the local fair

Nope, she wasn't Italian. She had, by all accounts, not only her own pension money in the purse, but that of two other people. Needless to say she was very relieved to get it back. She hadn't even realised it was missing until I returned it.

I found a dog last year - I so wanted to keep it he was adorable but eventually managed to find his owners. He'd got lost after been taken to stay with relatives and had no collar.

The little girl was so excited - she'd not seen him for 3 months

I found �60 on the floor on a night out. Noone in sight it could have belonged to. Could have given it in t the night club, but didnt like the chances of them not pocketing it themselves.

So i kept it, and used it to pay for a round of drinks for myself and my chums, a cab home each for my two mates, then when i got on the bus home, gave the bus driver and extra �10 and told him to take the fares of the next people to barod the bus from it, till it ran out.
I did watch and he did do it. Some very surprised people!

Found a Nintendo Ds last week on our way to school/work but kinda knew who it belonged to as they had walked passed us a few mins before. My friend had to return it on her way back as I was going on to work but they were really greatful that we had returned it.
Found a door key the next day (same road) and found the owner a few doors down so they were lucky it was us who found it and not someone dishonest! Wondering what we will find next! lol

Have you taken it to the police station? After a certain length of time it becomes your property.

we still use pay packets for the newspaper boys and girls also the bar staff, might be worth you contacting local paper if you have one to see if its one of their paper boy/girls

Good on you Mary - restores our faith in the public. Don't think I could live with myself if I took wages that had been earned by someone else. My Mum always told me what goes around comes around and I could never live with myself if I thought someone was suffering because of my dishonesty and would be waiting for something horrible to happen to me. Sounds a bit corny I suppose but honesty is the best policy and you can always sleep at night!

I do think that is good of but the best thing to do would be to hand it in to your local police station. The owner has more than likely contacted them already and may well be panicking. It it's not claimed within two weeks you are entitled to it. You could either keep it or continue looking for the owner. Please let us know if you are successful, I love a happy ending!
