Changing from Formula to cows milk

I am going to start changing the piglets milk from formula to cows. Anyone have any problems doing this or any advice to offer?

It should be fine, I take it he/she is old enough?
I would begin to mix the two together ie substitute around 2oz of formula for cows milk for a few days then gradually increase the amount until its just cows milk.
I wouldn't advise just swapping it completely, I know somone who did and it made their baby sick!
This is also a good time to wean baby off a bottle if you haven't already and use a feeder cup or similar.

I just swapped striaght from one to the other and didn;t have any problems - I had however been using cows milk for their breakfast cereal for a while before that - I kept my eldest on follow on milk up till he was about 15/16 months as he was not a particularly good eater and i felt (rightly or wrongly) that the follow on would be better for him for a while.

Thank you ladies. The piglet is 15 mths now and she does get cows milk in her cereal. She still has a small (4oz) bottle most afternoons so I think I will start with this on and work up gradually. My biggest fear was that she would voimt and/or have the runs! But as Granny looks after her during the day this will not be my problem (naughty mummy!).

I changed mine over by watering down the cows milk. I started by doing a mix of 5oz milk and 2oz water. After a few days- a week, I changed it to 4oz milk/3oz water and so on until it was just cows milk. She was also having cows milk in here cereal but when I first tried her with cows milk, she became very constipated. A friend suggested watering it down and after a few weeks, she is now on just cows milk.
