Morning! (or should I say that in French?)

This weeks listener is "Half a Dozen" by Nibor

Tough one this week to fill the grid because the inserted letters are randomly placed. Liked it because it was a challenge and with a different slant to put the missing letters into the grid, but thematically not exciting (having got the theme early on).
Nothing to find / highlight and jumbling up the 6 thematic words i presume was only done to make it harder for the solver.

As one of the so-called 'fair' sex, I had no trouble with 2d but am still completely flummoxed by 3d. (But also by a couple of others two 32 and 35 ac.) Probably abandoning though, as we have the essential and are not submitting - We are not even in the run for the chipped melaware saucer so a few 'fails' don't stress us. This has been just too much hard work!

sorry to mislead you cruncher. i believe there is a work of that name, but not in the thematic group of 6. i cant see anything other than half a dozen = 6. didnt take a lot to think of that title!

Phew - I'm glad a couple of others found this tough going. Too little to maintain the interest for my liking ... lots of cold solving and dreaded jumbles back for no apparent thematic reason (and the title seems a bit naff too),
Having said that, I did think the clueing was generally fair and enjoyably tougher than most.
All that, and finished just in time for the numbers
Don't be too hard on RTB - the title is not quite that arbitrary when you consider that the secondary theme of the puzzle is actually works 93 to 104 inclusive.
Indeed, cruciverbali. And the six concerned are the only ones with names, so form a very coherent and distinct subset.
