two fine service members who gave their lives helping the people of Afghanistan.
Yet once again these hollow words, words that have come to haunt us.
We also read that the American forces have killed 29 insurgents during a battle today in eastern Afghanistan, yet all we hear is the number of our soldiers that are killed.
Are we not allowed to kill any insurgents or are we only there for them to carry out their dastardly deeds upon.

To the British media, British people being killed is more newsworthy than any foreigners being killed.
Not sure if that answers your question, as again, it is unclear what you are asking.

I think there is a subtle difference between us and the US.
We are using our armed men to foster relations with the Afghan people whereas the US takes the battle head on and probably does not discrimate who is friend or foe and so takes the whole lot on. Imagine what would happened in WWII if we had bombed Germany but tried to leave the towns and cities undisturbed for fear of hurting the normal civilians. Most of the Afghans are in it together and trying to separate peasants from road bombers is a task too far.

I don't know why your rather aggresive answer to my question.
What I was trying to convey was the fact that we never seem to hear how many insurgants we have managed to kill in, response to the many of our soldiers they kill.
Only want to hear a little good news to balance the score up. Why should we fight with our hands tied behind our back, when they break every rule in the book?
