what are the numbers 4 5 6 and 1 2 3,on these keys used for. Oh and the P has a star.

You got a lappy or a small keyboard?

These are numerical keys. Hit "Num Lock" and these keys are used for inputting numbers rather than letters, useful for numerical data entry as you don't go all over the place.

The star is a math function key (multiply). Look around you'll also see the plus, minus, divide (slash) and decimal points etc.

thanks post,have lappy.I think I'll leave them alone,cant find num-lock on this lappy.
It'll be at the top right probably (mine is 4 keys in top row) marked in the same colour as the numbers.

Tea finished, back to my washing.
