My partner was involved in a minor road accident last November which he considered was not his fault and in fact the third party admitted liability at the scene. He completed all the necessary paperwork and was called up several times to ask if he was injured and he replied no.His vehicle was duly repaired and his insurance brokers told him he did not have to pay the excess. 3 months ago he received a letter from the broker telling him that the 2 insurance companies involved had agreed 50/50 and did he agree .As he did not - telling them that if they could show that the Highway code had changed then he might agree. He received a letter telling him that the case was being passed to their solicitors who would get in touch. This week he had a call from a guy purporting to deal with accident claims and injuries for the said broker.
Were you injured.
No.
You must have wrenched your shoulder or something?
No not at all

Absolutely. The other common con is a slight accident seems all of a sudden to require a full respray or other major body repair as all the self-inflicted scrapes are repaired. Very many people think insurance companies are fair game.

And that's why premiums keep going up.
Yes this happens all the time as a driver i know that people (NOT ALL) will claim for alsorts if they think they can get away with it keep a record of everthing said at the sceen of any R.T.C if possible take photos and let the third party know that you have done
About 2 years ago a man drove into the back of my car, leaving it a write-off. His insurance company were great, courtesy car etc etc. About 2 months later, received a phone call, any whip-lash or any other injuries was the query. The reply was no, fine thank you.

1500 had been put to one side for "compensation" Never thought to ask if they were on commission.
I refused the money.
