embarrassing question

an eighty six year old maiden aunt has just asked me this, "does it really hurt badly when a gent gets hit in his privates" I assured her that it did indeed, she then asked "so why does everyone laugh when it happens" I was stumped for an answer, what would you have said?
and I wonder why she got to that age before she wanted to know.

I would have said that "it looks funny" for some people, bit like watching someone fall over, painful but funny for onlookers, not everyone laughs of course thankfully!

I have snapped my fibula twice... broken and dislocated fingers and thumbs... had wisdom pulled and fallen on a lump of flint and sliced my forearm wide open... none of them get close to the pain of a swift kick in the plums...

The laughter that results from seeing someone else get hit in the crown jewels is as much to do with ''thank god it didn't happen to me'' as much as anything else...

I think that snags theory that the laughter stems from being glad its not them is about right, shows what a nice lot we are dont it.
any way snags, are you just clumsy or unlucky?

no idea what the answer is to auntys question but i have one of my own.as a guys plums and banana are not supported in his in his trousers does it hurt when guys are walking round,
