After reading that story I realized that the Koreans named one of their cars after a New Zealand parrot.

Ohhhh, yes.

Kea's are terrible for destroying things like car fixtures, backpacks, etc.

They don't thieve anything as such.

Brilliant birds, funny & have beautiful colours under their wings.
They ARE brilliant - but since they can take a Brazil nut apart, I wouldn't like to get my fingers in the way!

I was in Bogata and this beautiful parrot alighted upon my wrist and attempted to steal my watch! I sort of indicated to him "no way', and he/she followed me around for two or three days......we became buddies.
Nice, beef stew.

Hmph! No such luck when I was in Bogota. All that followed ME around were some very "iffy" looking security people!
