I am looking for a nice looking traditional style watch for an eight year old boy ..... can anyone point me in the right direction - I would like to be able to get the back engraved.
This is probabaly not exactly waht you are looking for and I would think that it will probably be hard to come by. I presume that you are wanting this for a keepsake rather than for wearing, if so, i would suggest getting an adults one that he can grow into and a sports watch for now. As the mother of two boys around that age, I can tell you that they would not appreciate something like that as much as you would like them to and would be unlikely to care for it properly either. The young chap you have in mind may be different, in that case I hope you find what you are looking for.
Thanks so much for your answer and all the thought you have put into it ... it is for a keepsake for his first holy communion ... but I have changed my mind - I have ordered a nice printed copy of the "Footprints" poem which I will date and frame ... what do you think?
Not being of any religion at all, i am not sure what is usual for such events, but that sounds like a lovely momento - might be worth buying a small thing for him to enjoy now as well if the budget will allow - if you know what type of thing he is in to. My boys would love a bit of lego or a new football or something like that.
