Can anyone put light on to my query about whether tea leaves are good for plants. I was told they were, but not sure if it as old wives tale. Rather than throw them in my recycle bin, I would use them for plants if they would do good.
Many thanks for your help.
Tea leaves don`t have any goodness in them other than helping the soil by holding water. Using them as a mulch around plant stems helps prevent the soil drying out.
I put my used tea bags on my house and garden plants, tearing them open helps them to work fast, not sure what they contain or do for my plants but they thrive on their tea. When I have tea left in the pot, cold, I pour it over my plants rather than down the plug, nothing has died in 20 years.
