family allowance

Hi
I have declaired in November that my daughter was no longer in full time education. The family allowance people wrote to me and told me that her benefit would stop, however it has been going into my bank account. She has now started full time work and i need the payments to stop. I do not know the allowance number or how to contact them and to be honest im worried that they will expect me to pay back what i owe them all at once. Could you please advise me on what to do.
Thank you
Amanda

phone them and tell them, if the situation was reversed and they were taking money away from you Im sure you would have tracked them down and phoned them by now. they are not too hard to find. their number should be at the top of the letter you received.
they will demand the excess back so the quicker you tell them the better.

Get in touch with them
Did they say in the letter when it would stop - it doesn't always stop when full-time education stops.
If they sent this letter and continued to pay in error it may be written off as and 'official error'. If there is money that you have to pay back it can be paid in instalments.
Keep the letter that you got from them safe. Don't worry about it.
