Greasy Nose!!

Anyone else have really greasy skin on their nose?  My skin isn't greasy elsewhere.  I exfoliate every other day, use clay etc masks regularly and I feel like I have tried every anti-shine, mattifying product etc on the market with no success. This week I spent another tenner on OC8 Oil Control Genius and as usual my nose was shiny after an hour. The only thing that works is a theatrical anti-shine cream but it's just too thick and heavy for everyday use. I also carry oil blotting papers and pressed powder around with me but I'm so sick of retouching all the time.  Any suggestions or product recommendations gratefully received!

I get that too Nicola!!! It's so annoying. I would also love to hear any suggestions that anyone might have. I was thinking something along the lines of some sort of compact that actually does last longer then an hour or two.

Couldn't just dab it with ordinary tissue paper, could you? Obviously it wouldn't last forever, and doesn't actually solve the problem (diet-related perhaps?), but if you looked as if you were blowing your nose nobody would notice, so it could be done quickly and conveniently as a short-term measure.

Maybe it's because you use so much stuff on your face.  My fella is part Greek and so tends to have more greasy skin, he tones (though would kill me for saying so) but doesn't put moisturiser on so's to dry his skin out a bit.  It seems to do the trick.

Though I am probably about to get screamed at by a beautician.

maybe now is not the time to admit I actually did a beauty therapy course for 2 years. Saying that most of it was spent in the canteen at college. If only I had been a bit more keen to learn, i wouldn't have this big ol shiny nose now! :-)

Thanks all.  I must stress that I definitely don't mositurise my nose - that would be madness.  jno, I get the feeling wiping it with a tissue might just take all the makeup off!  But I have been known to try it in emergencies.

Unfortunately for you most slap thes days is full of moisturisers.  I think you a should try astringents only on the greasy area - liquid witch-hazel or similar. See the dispenser in a pharmacy as you want the old-fashioned bottle of the clear liquid. You can cotton wool that on each day. Don't get the gel or cream though, as that will have moisturiser added. You might have to put two foundations on, one specially for greasy skins on that area, with the rest of your face having the "for normal skins" product.  Cucumber is a good astringent but have a cuc. pack on the nose when you have a night in!

I use some stuff called Witch.It's the same thing as Flaming suggested but not quite as strong as the pure witch hazel.
I find it brilliant ,very refreshing on the skin and it has got rid of my greasy bits and tightens the pores up.

i find the boots botanics skin brightening toner works well to close up pores etc.  i use a light moisturiser on my nose, as if skin is too dry is stimulates more oil production, thus exacerbating the problem as opposed to solving it.

as a really desperate measure, my doctor prescribes duac cream as i have bad skin anyway, and this has entirely removed oil, minimised pores and also got rid of blackheads.  magic stuff.
