I've got a problem..

And I need advice urgently. I just missed a call, and when I phoned back, I spoke to a guy who wants to put some work my way. He asked to meet me this Friday. Without thinking, I said yes. When I put the phone down, I realised I've got a funeral to go to at the exact same time this friday. The funeral is of a good friend of mine who passed away from Cancer a few days ago. Help !

nomercy..just a thought a funeral only last 40 mins at the most.....just go to the church and then go and meet your business associate....im sure he would/could see you if you explained the situation.....

My late friend was a devout Christian, and was highly regarded by the church where the service is taking place. There will be a lot of people there, and it may be quite a long service.

As already mentioned probably......i would ring him up...explain the situation and reschedule for any other appropriate date....sure he will understand, with your circumstances.

well you are closing all the avenues of options nomercy, only you will know what to do in the end, if this guy is a close friend I would do the right thing and go to his funeral, work will always come by again...

I think I've come up with a solution, Cazzz. If I attend the work meeting, I can still go to the afterservice back at my friend's house. She is a lovely person, so she'll completely understand. I think your first couple of posts on this thread were wiped, btw.

yes, no idea why?! but AB has been playing up on my comp, I was banned for oversubmitting yesterday which was reinstated, now this !

This is why I plan not to have a funeral. Who really wants to go to them anyway? People only go because they feel they ought to. I'd rather people came to see me when I was still alive and kicking. I'd go for the work, in this day and age you have got to get it where you can.

And don't bother to have a minute's silence for me on answerbank when I go, what a waste of time that no-one really wants.
