I have recentley bought a scooter (piaggio B125). It only had 750 miles on the clock, but it is 5 years old, which means that it has been left standing for long periods.

It exhibits 2 problems at the moment does anyone out there know what these are.

1. Sometimes cuts out when I increase the throttle/engine speed

2. When I turn the ignition off, it sometimes shudders for a second before stopping completely.

thanks for any knowledgeable words

If the scooter has a carbureator you may have water in the carb and that means it may also be in the tank. The fuel may also be old and will misbehave in like manner until replaced. Check the fuel filter also..there should be one. Don't replace it until the fuel issue has been resolved.
