Apple Mac G4 system install CD's
2 Answers
What is the best way of determining the correct install CD for a Power Mac G4? The problem I have is that at my company we have a variety of the dark grey G4's, I've had a problem before were a system lost some functionality (graphics) because the wrong install CD was used. (the system required the OS installer for an AGP graphics G4). I've called Apple but they were'nt much help.

I've got an AGP G4 and after checking the Software Restore CD, the only thing I've found that gives a clue to which Mac the disk is for is in 'Power Mac G4 Read Me', In the section "About Apple DVD Player Software. It tells you which machine your DVD software is NOT compatible with, so in my case it states" is not compatible with .... Power Mac G4 (PCI graphics). Hopes this helps.
