what about if the health of the foetus/child is at risk, i.e. its chances of surviving a normal natural life are considered to be minimal if not zero ?
there are so many scenarios and as i said everyone is different and acts with different intentkions. you seem to be basing your opinions on the handful of girls/women that are labelled as treating the abortion service as some sort of birth control option. this is media frenzy in my op, there are usually many other reasons. and what about rape, or a genuine mistake, or fear of bringing an unwanted baby that cannot be properly cared for into the world ?
you say you dont support abortion in any way. you dont have to. but neither do you have to look down on those women who feel that is their preferred or only option given the myriad circumstances.
in view of this story, it would seem to me the only person who took a life was the murderer who killed the doctor.

Waldo, I wondered, but I don't think so. Different style.
theway Secondly I did not say it is ok to abort if the woman's life is at risk. I said " It is a different issue if the woman's health....." Meaning if a woman's health is at risk and if she decides to abort then it is a different issue and we cannot victimize the woman.
Isn't that a contradiction?

This is worth a read. I don't pretend it applies to all anti-choice supporters, but it's illuminating:

Often a case of do as I say, and not as I do, it seems.
This was interesting.
A 1994/95 survey (2,3) of nearly 10,000 abortion patients showed 18% of women having abortions are born-again or Evangelical Christians. Many of these women are likely anti-choice. The survey also showed that Catholic women have an abortion rate 29% higher than Protestant women. A Planned Parenthood handbook on abortion notes that nearly half of all abortions are for women who describe themselves as born-again Christian, Evangelical Christian, or Catholic.

i think the afrticle heading "The Only Moral Abortion is My Abortion" sums it up quite succinctly. i dont really think religion plays that much of a part - it cant do otherwise they woudnt have the abortions wojuld they - i think that morally its just a tricky issue (a life) for people so many will moraly say, i dont like it/agree with it, but accepot that it sometimes is a necessity.
i think parading up and down outside of abortion clinics and even murdering doctors is as hypocritical as their interfaith beliefs and practices.

the thing that annoys me is that they say the feotus is in some way equal to the life already there?
how can that be?
how can someone who has lived x many years and has friends emotions memories all this, possibly be compared to something that doesnt have any cognitive thought?
If its in the mothers best interests ie she was raped, health reasons, shes not mentally prepared for a child, is a drug user, is a homeless person all these are valid reasons for not having a baby and it is better for everyone involved if she doesnt!
