i had a T-safe coil fitted about a year ago and have had no problems with it whatsoever. However the past 2 periods that i have had have not been to what they usually are. My periods are usually quite heavy for 2-3 days, which i was told that that is one of the side effects from having a coil. But the past 2 periods have been more like spotting, late , ive been tired alot and have gone off coffee. The last time i felt like this i was pregnant with my daughter. im going to do a test in a couple of days to see if i could be pregnant, but wondered what are the chances of this with having a coil fitted? has this happened to anyone?

no conteceptive is a 100% reliable so it could be possible although i think its a small chance. why are you going to wait to do a test? surely the sooner you know the beeter and as you have said you have had 2 strange periods now, therefore you could be a few months gone already. You need to see your gp straight away too if you are as he will need to remove the coil. How do you feel about possibly being pregnant? Obviously you being on the coil you wanted to prevent this, so im sure you head is all over the place now. Have you spoken to your partner about this?
