Cashews v Peanuts

Does anyone know why salted cashews are so much more expensive than salted peanuts? I love cashews!!

Probably because they taste better, and people are therefore willing to pay more for them! I love them too!

Cashew are more labor intensive, grow in tropical climates.A tree of 40-50' yields only about 10lbs.
