My ex has told me that because he has had a 10% drop in salary from the end of June he is going to pass it on to me and reduce my monthly payments set by the CSA from the end of june. He has been paying me 150.00 extra/month from April. He goes on to say that because his new wife is expecting a child, they will no longer have the privilege of two incomes so he will not be able to pay so much for his three kids..do i have a leg to stand on...i dont work and rely totally on his maintenance

Hello

Sorry to say your ex is right

He only has to pay what he is paid so if he has had a drop in wage your money goes down.

And about his wife having a baby when the child is born your money will drop again. And even if she goes back to work that will make no difference to your money because they only take your exs wage in to consideration not hers.
You could get a job!!

guysach-thanks for your advise. much appreciated.

boro1986-no thanks for your advise-not helpful at all-i have three kids under six and am run ragged looking after them alone- ever tried getting a job in todays market between nine and three, monday to friday
think carefully before you post such condescending messages.
I know how hard it is with small children but if you do not work you will be in receipt of state benefit and so your money should be the same as what he pays is deducted from the amount you receive. I know it seems unfair that his payments can be reduced but he also probabally thinks its unfair that he has had a drop in salary. My daughter had her csa reduced because her husband increased his mortgage to have a new kitchen installed for his new wife and the csa people said that as his housing costs had increased her payments must reduce. So she ended up paying for the new kitchen!!
