first time in tech. I have downloaded some videos from youtube and would like to be able to play them on my stand alone DVD player, they play on my computer after putting them on a disk, My dvd player supports DVD-R, I know they will have to be converted, does anyone know of a free programme for me to do this, I already have a protected music converter but I wouldn't have thought it would convert video files as well? thank you joy x
ok I will chuck,I know it supports DVD/CD- I also have a Sharp RW 250, we got this when the DVD recorders first came out, that has to have the disk finalised before it will play it if I I have recorded from the television, the other is a bog standard Phillips cheapie, but it plays DVD-R and CD-R

Get your dvd manual out and see what format it plays - avi, MPEG, dvix or whatever.
Then we can tell you the converter you need. You shouldn't have to pay for it.
