I have just been into town to the post office and as I walked by near the bus station I saw weeping people stood in front of a mound of flowers laid on the path . Yesterday , in broad daylight and what must have been a busy town full of shoppers and commuters , a man stabbed to death a pregnant woman in her 20s . The baby didn't survive the attack either . Tragic loss of two young lives .

You wouldn't even dare to give eye contact with a lot of the people round here , let alone think of them as friendly . Even the drug houses on this street don't get on , there's fights and broken windows between them .
yes china but as you said very rare, if its an adiction you would do anything,
Sounds very nasty and very extreme BM, but then so often with the cases that get the mass publicity come the extremes of mental illness/drug abuse/drink abuse etc... Always seems to me that it's extremes of behaviour that's worrying, it invaribly masks something else as well. Not nice and very sad.
I've just read the news reports. How horrific and how sad. The poor poor girl and baby - and my sympathies go out to her parents & the baby's father.

Words fail me, and that doesn't happen very often. And how could the perpetrator of the crime just nonchanantly walk away like that - what sort of a monster is he? What sort of excuses will he come up with?
Tragic mamma, read about it earlier x
Probably is a mental health problem, but I do deal with many older druggies many of them violent.
Druggies more likely to hug you than to mug you?
Utter sh1te.
He may well get sectioned, detained under the mental health act and then quietly released in a few years time.
I don't know the figures for recidivism in these instances, but, personally I feel that after an act like that you have shown yourself to be a danger to the public and should be locked away (humanely) forever.

It was 4 in the afternoon , must have been lots of people around , luckily he ran off to be stopped by people and a nearby police constable was to hand . In fact the Police station is just down that road and there are often officers walking up from the station .

Oh my goodness, I had not heard anything of this tragic event. It is utterly heartbreaking and shocking.

How awful. :0[
Hi BM, got home about 6.30 and saw this on the news. I couldn't believe it. Just so horrific and tragic.

My heart goes out to the parents/grandparents and her boyfriend.
