I use my desktop PC for banking, shopping etc, and as a result, passwords and such like are stored on it. Is it possible to copy all of the Cookies, etc from my Temp Internet files on my desktop pc to my Temp Internet files folder on my laptop and would the laptop then have the passwords saved on them?

if your using IE then open IE click on the file menu and select import and export, follow the wizard through selecting "export cookies" and save them somewhere you can find them again.

now it's upto you how you get the exported cookies onto the other computer. (copy over network, burn to CD, use a USB memory stick..... whatever works for you)

Once you have them on the new computer then repeat the "import export" thing but select import cookies this time, point it at the file you have just copied over and away you go.

Remember that you will also have "tracking cookies".

These are cookies that track your internet viewing habits and send information back to central servers so they can target advertising.

If you move all your cookes to your laptop you are moving "good" cookies as well as "bad" cookies.

Personally I would not keep my passwords for banking sites in my cookies and I would ensure I entered it each time is was needed.

That won't transfer your remembered passwords which are stored in the registry - not in cookies
