For an outside wormery. Buy the cheapest plastic black dustbin (with lid) that you can find.
Saw the bottom off. Now turn it the other way up on the soil in a suitable place. Do not buy so called "tiger worms" these are brandlings and just appear magically if you start off with some old growbag compost (or new if you feel generous), bits of wet corrugated cardboard and your vegetable waste. They do not like citrus fruits(oranges.lemons etc..). Perhaps not at this time of year but later in the spring you will find it will start breeding worms and they will work their way up into the new vegetable waste, The reason the dustbin is upside down is because the taper allows you to slide it up, prop it on bricks and then remove the compost for your garden
Use the dustbin lid to keep it not too dry not too wet. It will be too big so another bit of brick is neededto weigh it down in the winds. I have six of these going and left reasonably full during winter as the worms seem to go dormant and not breed.
Best of luck.

I got my wormery from wiggly worms but the reason they dont eat so much in winter is because they are cold - move them into a shed or garage and they carry on eating!
You could also try a wheelie bin that is how I started mine off with some holes in the bottom for drainage and worms from a fishing shop (you do get some funny looks when you say they are not for fishing with)! Good Luck - well worth the bother you get smashing compost and liquid out of the bottom which you dilute for plants also.
