Five minute school speech
5 Answers
Can anyone suggest a riveting topic that my year 9 daughter can make a speech about during an english lesson at school? We need a subject that the rest of her peers are not going to fall asleep at during the class!
Many thanks.

She could try to get the class involved by making a speech about the way the little girl was allowed to have another try on Britain's got Talent - does she think it was fair to do this? Does she think there should be an age limit in these shows? Does she think media pressure is excessive on the contestants? If she can give two opposing points of view, she should be able to get the rest of the class fired up to debate the issues - very good for all of them!
my son (7) did a talk on experimenting with foods. We bought those cheapcheap shop brand fairy cakes and 'iced' them with whacky things. the audince were all given a cake and asked if they could recognise the flavour.(marmite and chocolate were mixed together/ peanut butter and crushed cheese and onion crisps was spread on another etc etc etc. you could incorparate a healthy theme (pureed veg / look in the health food shop for special offers) or maybe a theme of eating with your eyes/nose. the whole class loved it - they certainly remembered his talk!!!!!!!!!!
and he had a blast making them - imagination went wild
good luck
