One of our GP Registrars has just given me a request to send for "oral toilet".
Is he just talking sh!t ??

This is the same one who a few weeks ago asked me to "illicit information....".
( I don't know; the calibre of medical students these days, aint wot they used to be...) ;-)

I know salla..........one of my nephews is in his first year as a 'houseman' I think...........glad I don't live in Newcastle...

Yepp, I despair re. the standard of Health Care in the NHS.....LOL
....or one of those packs that contain mouthwash , gauze squares , and forceps or lolly sticks , for cleaning out the mouth .
the worrying thing sqad is that he's hoping to become a surgeon and practise private medicine..............

I think their medical knowledge & health care is ok - but their English, grammar, spelling etc is appalling. Even from the 'English' ones (who are few & far between these days - but let's not get onto that one....!)

Is this what my nanna used to mean when she said "Huh, young Doctors today - don't know their @rse from their elbow"?
salla...one of the commonest remarks on Body and Soul is why come on a website to get advice on health from a stranger..............for what I have seen over the past 3yrs, it is the safest place for advice.......LOL

Oh ye of little faith !

I know what you mean though - one of, if not THE, prime motivators these days for young 'uns to go into medicine is the money. It used to be for different reasons, now it's all money-orientated. Shame :-(
craft knowledge of surgery is a HINDRANCE" to becoming a successful surgeon in Private Practice.
Remember the old adage:

A physician is someone who knows everything but does nothing.

A surgeon is someone who knows nothing but does everything.

A psychiatrist is someone who knows nothing and does nothing.
I'll mention this to him sqad............I think he'll do well as he is extremely intelligent, great at sports, and smashing looking as well
craft.....that's all he needs.
