Itchy Stretch Marks
Even though I've been using Bio Oil religiously, my stomach looks like a road map, stretch marks everywhere. They have now become very itchy, are there any products that might help? I've tried Aloe Vera, but it hasn't helped.

Im 37 weeks with my second child and with my daughter (and the use of bio-oil) didn't get one stretch mark, with this one however I am carrying all out front, have been using bio-oil and am the same as you. My friend used the cocoa butter cream all the way through her two pregnancies and didn't get any, so you could maybe try that? However, I'm gonna wait until baby arrives and use the bio-oil to get the purpley colour of them to fade. Hope this helps xx
Oh I really sympathise. I scratched mine til they bled. I used to wake up in the night scratching. The doctor prescribed me lotion (didn't do much though to be honest) but I've since seen E45 itch relief cream. Check to see if thats suitable in pregnancy. My stretch marks are only just starting to fade 5 months later. I look like I've been clawed by a massive lion.
hi velvetee!
Not long to go for you now eh! Good luck :-)
I really do believe it is the luck of the draw with stretch marks and no matter what you use, if your going to get them, your going to get them.
I just used a cheap moisturising cream throughout my pregnancy. Used to apply it morning and night.
I didn't get a single stretch mark, so i was lucky i guess.
My bump was very neat though.

Thanks for your tips everyone. As many have said, it is probably the luck of the draw and you're either prone to stretch marks or not. I think I am prone, as even if I've gained or lost weight naturally, I always get a few. Unfortunately, the ones I have now look pretty extreme and as I'm darker skinned, not sure how awful they will look once they become lighter.
I have to say mine were the worst I've ever seen on anyone, and they go vertically rather than horizontally. Like I say though they've definately improved a lot but I reckon its just tough. I had a huge bump but bubs was only 6lb 8oz.
Also, when I told my midwife she said to keep an eye on the itching as if it starts to cover your whole body it can be sign of problems.
Might not be bothering you after tomorrow though eh velvetee?? Fingers crossed you're not waiting too much longer x
