And maybe a visit to a podiatrist to get some orthotics.

Get some Emu oil from a healthfood shop.
I just tried it on someones recommendation, and it really helps to relieve the discomfort.

This is a condition I suffer with in my work bigtime... I have arthritis which I think is causing the pain due to the ankle joints being inflamed and swollen.
I also get shooting pains down ly legs which feel like electric shocks in the toes, this is due to sciatica, or problems with the sciatic nearves.
