About the age of consent in UK?
When I was 16, I thought I was so grown up, but only now do I realise how wrong I was. I turned 16 four months before I left school, and so, in theory, for four months I could have been a schoolgirl having sex. The thought makes me shudder. In some countries, it's as young as twelve. Do you think we have the right age of consent in UK?

LOL I was in the Merchant Navy, Girlfriend in every port as they say. The comments on here by everyone have been very relevant to the Topic you have raised and Sex at too young an age can be dangerous. We all need it I suppose but you have to know who you are dealing with when committing yourself mainly due to the Aids issue.
Theonlyone - Yes, it is a tragic waste. Yet these 16/17-year-olds DID have sex education at school, and still they end up pregnant, living in a council flat, and never experiencing life, or working for a living. There are a great many only too willing to be kept from the womb to the tomb, at the expense of taxpayers.
This debate is going round in circles. Whenever someone comes up with an idea to discourage kids from having sex at an early age, it's shot down by someone else identifying a flaw with that idea.
At the end of the day, it's the kid's choice as to whether they have sex or not at a young age; their parents or the government are not standing over them telling what to do or not to do. That's why I believe scare tactics are the only way to keep teen pregnancies to a minimum. And I don't believe there is a single person out there that could find a flaw with that idea. Obviously my idea of the dead girl holding her dead baby was a bit extreme but the point is if you scare them enough, they will make their own choice as to whether do it or not. Nuff said!
