sorry if I'm missing something here but 'one delares' is the definition and I can't see how it can indicate anything in the wordplay.

I went for attestor, using 'Oval' as an indicator for 'o' + r (extra runs). I couldn't find 'e' as an abbreviation for extra. (Just hope I'm right as mine's in the post).

I've seen egg clued as the letter O but never Oval.....I think I'll toss a coin for this one....thanks all for input.

I took Oval as in the shape...rounded like the letter o

Just checked the last 10,000 Times clues (no I don't have a life)......egg (example Times 24005....Charlie swallowing cream egg and mineral = ASBESTOS) but no sing of Oval...first appearance?

Only just seem your post. I think it has to be AT TEST OR.

If we were meant to read it as ER (extra run) why mention the Oval in the clue? Also Oval adds to the 'test' element as a cricket venue.

Finally Oval = O
