Montreal here we come!

The present Mrs Hughes and I are off to Montreal for a week. I am working, so will be utterly frazzled and want only a bed at the end of each day, while PMH will be off seeing the sights and shopping so ...

can anyone reccomend any must-see places, shops, epxeriences and so on while she is there?

Lucky you.I was there last year and enjoyed the place very much. From memory (rubbish) Rue St Catherine is the main shopping street. A worthwhile thing to do is use a tour bus to get a feel for the place.Also a day trip to Quebec can also be done and is well worth doing.

Oh now this is why you should have read Kathy Reichs books! I'n reading deja dead at the moment and it is the only one i have not read and most of her stories are based in Montreal! (It's the author that the character in Bones is based on)
The way she descibes the city it is very very hot in the summer - certainly in this book i am reading, she descibes the cafe life on the Rue St catherine very well and there seem to be amazing deli s and bread shops too! It must be the Fench influence. the churches feature alot in it too.
