Could anyone advise what type of hinges and locks etc would be needed for a hard wood standard size 33 x 78 exterior stable type door.
Many Thanks

First off the hinges you will need are two pair of 4inch butt hinges, either steel or brass whichever will match the door furniture (handles). For the bottom half of the door you can use a dead lock if you are going to have a yale type cylinder lock in the top half. Or you could have a mortise lock with handles on the bottom door and a dead lock on the top door. You will also need a strong bolt to hold the two doors together when not using it as a stable door. You could just have a mortise lock on the bottom door and the bolt to hold them together but its more secure to have two locks, and your insurance company may insist on two locks.
