anu holiday victim?
Has anyone had dealings with ANU holiday.co.uk??
They promised a two week break during the summer for 399, took my money and then told me I didn't have enough points for the holiday they promised me.
Seems as if they are operating out of Spain and are not really interested in respnding to my request for a refund.
Any advice on how to get my money back would be appreciated.

did you pay by credit card?
did you pay by credit card?
Thanks for your response guys.
I did pay by credit card, but they do not want to know as there is no written proof of what I say I was promised by ANU, so they can't tell whether I am in the right or in the wrong. They suggest that I take it up with ANU, who are not responding to my calls / emails / letters.
I'm not at all surprised that their phone lines are 'temporarily out of order'!!

Please note: We are currently moving offices and we seem to be experiencing problems with our phone lines. As a temporary measure please can you call us on 0207 979 7127 (after 1pm).
Which loosely translated means-We are currently scarpering and you will not be able to contact us so just sit tight while we put as many miles as we can between us and you.

A search round the web indicates a parent company called ANU Club, see here

These type of companies offer "points" based holidays, where you buy so many points off them, which entitles you to a holiday each year.
When timeshares became illegal they were replaced by points based holidays, but they are run by the same sort of con artists who used to run time shares.
Often they get you to sign up by offering you so many points, but whe you try and book a holiday you find out you need to buy more points to get a decent holiday (as you seem to have discovered).
That is the way they work, it is all an attrempt to get you to buy more points and pay them more money.
This UK based arm may be in financial trouble, hence the "phone not working" comment on their web site, sounds very dodgy to me.
