laser eye treatment

Just put this question on this site since it probably attracts more people. Anybody get this Wavefront Laser Treatment. My neighbour got it done last Friday and is brilliant. She needed glasses, to see TV, drive, read just about everything now she needs no glasses. However her procedure seems to be different to my little niece who got it done last year who described as mini-hammers on her eyes. My neighbour described hers as though somebody was sticking their fingers through their eyes for seconds of course. I would love to get it done. Help!!!
