MPs Expenses

My MP has clearly abused the system and claimed nearly �200,000 for personel financial gain. He will however probably get away with it. Is there anyway I can take him to court as an individual without a large financial outlay??

Write to your a)The MP, b) the Chairman of the constituency association for the party, c) your local paper d) your local radio station e) put up local posters and demand that the MP hold a constituency meeting to explain themselves. If they refuse, say you are getting up a petition to have them deselected.

If abuse has occurred it would be nice if he could be forced to pay some back but I doubt if legal action would stand any chance if he had been operating within the (flawed) rules

Thank you for your answers but they do not answer the question. I have had lengthy correspondence with the MP and many others. If I could get him to a Civil Court he would certainly lose. The question is how can I do this??

I'm not sure why you think this would get anywher, but my advice would be....See a solicitor.
But what are you claiming for- damages?
Or are you seeking a private prosecution? If there was case wouldn't the CPS deal with it? Have you reported it to the police?

You as an individual have no interest over which you could sue. You've incurred no quantifiable loss for which a civil court could award you anything assuming you could get it to consider the case

Further to dzug's answer(whi I agree with)
I think you would be VERY unlikely to get ANY Solicitor/barrister to take this on,because as Dzug says you have not (personally) lost anything,and as such a court would want to know just what you were trying to reclaim.
It's much like saying "I don't approve of nuclear weapons,so I am sueing for the income tax back"

IF you could take him to court,YOUR financial outlay could be huge.
MP's are adept at stretching out such matters.
Of course the court might award costs against you if you lost,it would not necessarily be the open and closed case you think.Of course that was IF(doubtful) it EVER came to court.
