With women who are facing

pain

blood

a torn winkie

more pain

vomit

two years with no sleep

eighteen years with no money


... and you wonder why their humour levels are a bit low ?

Telling them to bite the bullet & stop complaining?
Telling them that childbirth is what they're made for & should stop complaining?
Telling them that women have been giving birth since time immemorial, in caves & behind bushes & to stop complaining?
Telling them to trust the advice of their (strictly male) obstetrician, & not to trust their own instincts & judgements & to stop complaining?
Telling them they're just hysterical hormonal womanly creatures bred only for sex, cooking, needlework & procreation & to stop moaning.... unless it's in ecstacy (then they should moan as loudly as possible so the neighbours can hear what a wonderful lover their man is.....)

I remember waiting for a scan when I was pregnant. my bladder was almost bursting, and it was so uncomfortable. another couple were there for the same reason, and he kept on at her.. "drip, drip, drip!" and making hissy water noises.

she was annoyed with him, but I could have decked him!
