Have been given 3 giant green prawns for Father's Day.
They are approx. 10 inches long and still have shells intact. Do i remove vein which runs all the way down the tail, before cooking or is it done after cooking? I want to grill the prawns as i believe this is better than frying but i'm open to correction.
Will appreciate a speedy reply as these delicacies are not frozen.

depends on whether your cooking them shell on or not really

my preference would be to take the shell off, remove the vein, butterfly the prawns and brush a little garlic butter on them then grill and eat with fresh crusty bread and some lemon

oh bu&&er know i'm going to have to get some prawns on the way home.....
Leave shells and heads on, cut the whole prawn in half length ways, remove the vein. Spead a descent dollup of garlic butter over the flesh and head of each half, amply sprinkle with bread crumbs then grill till cooked and crumbs are golden. Serve with crusty bread. Yummy Yummy.
