wasn't home when I got home. She'd obviously squirmed out of the laundry window which was open a bit

Automatic freak out!!!!

Tushed & tushed & went up & down the street with a torch. Got my Mum over to help with the search. Knocked on neighbours doors. Last neighbour I knocked on, (the yukky ones who verbally abuse their children) & asked if they'd seen her. They said no.

Then as I came home (crying my eyes out) & was walking into my door - LO! She came running up meowing like crazy. And she was warm!

Do you think she HAD been in the neighbours?

Nah - cats will always find somewhere warm - she could have been anywhere - on a warm car bonnet or anywhere. They also have pretty good insulation!! The only time my cat feels cold is if he has actually been out in the snow!
